At Fairview, every Ministry that we support and conduct is in obedience to the will and purposes of God as revealed to us by His Holy Spirit. We recall His top-of-the-list: Love God, love our neighbor. And the Lord gives us some additional hints for ministry in the two translations of James 1:27 below...

Pure religion and undefiled before God the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep him [and ourselves] unspotted from the world. James 1:27 KJV

Anyone who sets himself up as “religious” by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world. James 1:27 MSG.
